Did you walk on the bridge? I have fond memories of a visit to Verona in 1986!!! It was during the opera festival AND a major soccer game. No hotel rooms except for one very last one (someone did not show up) in a small motel that was walking distance from the train station. The owners could not understand why we were not interested in futbol.
